2020 Chevy Equinox; Will There Any Changes?
Will There Any Changes to the 2020 Chevy Equinox? In order to remain competitive, the current Equinox received lots of changes. As a result, it has a brand-new look, a brand-new interior, and engines upgrades. Since these significant changes happen just recently, what will happen to the New Chevrolet Equinox? Below, we will tell you how the upcoming Equinox will look like.
2020 Chevy Equinox Redesign Exterior & Interior
For the exterior, there will be no significant change. In other words, the current Equinox and the upcoming one will look very similar. The upcoming Equinox will inherit the small and sleek appearance of the current model. The only thing that we expect for the upcoming Equinox’s exterior is color options and under-the-skin updates.
Interior & Features
Speaking of the interior, the upcoming Equinox’s cabin will be refined, well-equipped and most importantly, comfortable for all of the passengers. Both of front and rear seats are cozy. In addition to that, the rear seats are going to come with heaters. The dashboard will feature a 7.0-inch display that is equipped with an infotainment system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
As with every other car, features are different between the base and higher trims. In the 2020 Equinox’s case, the base trim will get 10 airbags, stability control, active noise cancellation, keyless locks and ignition, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, USB port and audio system. The higher trims will get these features as well as additional features such as a larger 8.0-inch display, wireless phone charging, additional USB port and heated and ventilated seats.
Engine & Transmission
The engines are not likely to be changed, either. That’s right. The upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Equinox will use the same engines as the current Equinox. This means that there will be three engine options for the upcoming Equinox.
The standard engine will be a 1.5-liter, inline-four turbocharged engine which has an output of 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a 2.0-liter, inline-four turbocharged engine with 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The last engine option is a 1.6-liter, inline-four turbocharged diesel engine with 137 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.
In terms of fuel economy, the first engine has a fuel economy of 26/32 mpg (FWD) and 24/30 mpg (AWD, the second 22/29 mpg, and 22/28 mpg while the third has 22/29 mpg and 22/28 mpg, respectively.
2020 Chevy Equinox Price and Availability
When will the upcoming Equinox enter the market? Unfortunately, Chevrolet has yet to announce it. As such, no one knows the exact 2020 Chevy Equinox release date. That being said, if it follows the typical release schedule, then we will be able to see it in summer.
There is no official announcement about the price, either. Seeing that significant changes are unlikely, the 2020 Chevy Equinox price should be similar to the current model. In other words, the price will range between $24,000 and $38,000.
As you can see, significant changes are not likely to happen. This is not surprising, considering that the current model has fresh updates. That does not mean there the current model the upcoming model will look exactly the same, though. There will be some updates and novelties that, hopefully, make the upcoming Chevy Equinox better than the current one.
