2020 Mercedes GLE SUV: Redesign, Specs & Release Date
THE 2020 Mercedes GLE SUV OF THE STELLA WILL BE RELEASED BY THE END OF 2018: THIS IS HOW IT WILL CHANGE OUTSIDE AND INSIDE. ALSO IN THE AMG SUPER FORMAT
To judge from the sightings of the forklifts circulating on the road, and from this last teaser that shows the car to full figure, not much misses to the exit of the 2020 Mercedes GLE SUV. The first, true GLE, since the last (with the exception of the Coupé version), can be relegated to a restyling of the last ML, renamed GLE in the context of a general change in the nomenclature of the Star models.
It will be in dealerships at the end of 2018, the highest beginning of 2019. Meanwhile, we see her pass partially disguised on the streets. After the paparazzi of the spy have inserted the lens in the cockpit, after that also the teaser confirm as also new Mercedes GLE – as indeed it was foreseeable – will adopt the double continuous screen for instrumentation and infotainment of the modern Benz (but also a central console with raised handles, reminiscent of those of the first generation Porsche Cayenne), now the review also includes the first photos of GLE AMG 63.
2020 Mercedes GLE Engine Specs
We understand that it is the edition prepared by AMG, the GLE cover (other photos in the gallery ), both from the four exhaust terminals, and even more looking straight in the face. Not only the increased air intakes : even the grill acquires the typical buzzing effect typical of the latest generation of Mercedes-AMG ( Panamericana grid ). As for the engine, today’s 5.5 V8 will give way to a 4-liter biturbo that in any case should exceed it in terms of power: the unit that equips the E-Class AMG reaches 612 hp. A GLE AMG 53 is also planned, 6-cylinder in-line engine of 435 hp.
Returning to the appearance of the new common GLE: there will be many changes, most still hidden by the stickers. But you already understand a more defined and edgy design, for the medium-large SUV of Mercedes, which will benefit in this new generation also of optimized aerodynamics and more efficient engines (starting with the new 2.0-liter turbodiesel approved Euro 6D Temp). According to Mercedes, the new engines will reduce consumption by up to 20%.
New GLE will, therefore, abandon the previous Mercedes COMAND program to adopt the new MBUX , whose floating display – compared to the one fitted on Class A – will measure 12.3 inches diagonally, so it will grow a little. Also new is the design of the steering wheel and the central ventilation vents, now square-shaped and positioned just below the touchscreen monitor.
