HERE ARE THE FIRST SPY IMAGES OF THE NEW KIA XCeed SUV BASED ON CEED. IT WILL BE HALFWAY BETWEEN STONIC AND SPORTAGE, ARRIVING IN 2019
After the new Ceed 5-door 2018, the new Ceed Sportswagon and the brand new ProCeed, the shooting beak for families, Kia decided to close the circle for the family of its Segment C, the most European of the cars in the range. In these images, our always attentive photographers have immortalized the prototype of a Kia Ceed SUV, which should be called Kia XCeed and debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2019.
Kia, at this moment, already has a wide range of SUV and Crossover offers. It starts from the Picanto X Line, then passing through Stonic, Sportage, Niro, and Sorento. A Ceed SUV would complete the range. Under a heavy camouflage, we can see how to hide a Segment C car, raised from the ground compared to the hatchback we tested in Portugal in June.
The measures of the 2020 Kia XCeed should put it in direct competition with the Volkswagen T-ROC, bridging the gap between the S-Tonic and the Sportage. Not by chance, during some winter tests, the prototypes of the Kia XCeed SUV would be tested together with the benchmarked Volkswagen crossover. Given the reference target, it is likely that the XCeed will be proposed only with front-wheel drive and not in the 4×4 version.
2020 Kia XCeed SUV Specs & Release Date
Under the bonnet of the new Kia Ceed SUV, we should find all the engines already known: the 1.6-liter and 115-hp turbodiesel, the 120-hp three-cylinder 120-hp petrol and the 1.4-liter and 140-hp petrol. Also note the options for transmission, ranging from the six-speed manual transmission to the automatic seven-speed dual clutch. The hypothesis of an electrified mild-hybrid variant or, why not, the plug-in is plausible. The start of sales of the Kia XCeed SUV 2020 should begin by the end of the year.
