2020 Dodge Ram; 7 Reasons Why This is The BEST Truck
The 2020 Dodge Ram is going to be released later this year. With the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet in the market, how can the new Dodge Ram compete? The answer is by having a better look, bigger-sized and more capable truck, obviously. If you are interested in the upcoming Dodge Ram, you’d want to read on. Below, we have 7 reasons why you should consider this truck.
Bigger and Stronger
First and foremost, the 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 will be bigger and stronger than its predecessor. The maximum payload and towing capacities are 2,300 pounds and 12,750 pounds, respectively. This proves that the new Ram is going to be more capable than its predecessor.
Bigger yet Slimmer
While the 2020 Dodge Ram pickup bigger than its predecessor, it is also slimmer. It weighs 225 pounds less than the current model. How is it possible? The weight loss is all thanks to aluminum for its cross-members (both the front control-arm and transmission), tailgate and advanced, high-strength steel. Since it weighs less, the fuel economy is likely to be better but there is no official statement about this yet.
Since the upcoming pickup is both longer and wider, you can expect more spacious 2020 Dodge Ram interior. Here are the things that make it more spacious: the pickup is 4 inches lengthier, there is a flat-load floor, reclining second-row seating and expendable storage under the seat.
2020 Dodge Ram Diesel; More than Capable Engine
Under the hood, the 2020 Dodge Ram truck is equipped with a more than capable engine. It will be equipped with a 3.6-liter, Pentastar V6 engine plus a 48-volt, e-Torque system which adds 90 lb-ft of torque. Not powerful enough for you? Well, there is also a 5.7-liter, Hemi V8 engine available as well. This engine will come with the same e-Torque system, albeit it adds 130 lb-ft of torque instead of 90 lb-ft. Both of these engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
The upcoming Dodge Ram is going to have a better look. It will have active grille shutters, chiseled Ram logo and a front air dam, which operates when the truck’s speed goes up to 35 mph and retracts when its speed goes down to 15 mph. There is also a hidden front camera inside the letter A of the logo.
There will be an option to include an electronic rear differential. However, this will be standard for the 4×4 off-road and the Rebel packages. Not only that, the new Ram will also have large 14.9-inch front brakes and an electronic parking brake.
Premium Sound System
Need some music to accompany you while driving? Well, an audio system from Harman Kardon will be available for some trims. This audio system comes with a 10-inch subwoofer, surround sound amplifier and 19 premium speakers. Sounds good?
Other than its awesome look, capabilities, and features, the 2020 Dodge Ram will have several trim levels, 15 wheel designs, and 12 paint colors. With all these things, it will not be a surprise if the fifth-generation Dodge Ram to win over some Silverado and F-150 fans.
